Yesssss. There's something about a black skinny jean that just seems timeless(ish)...

You did such a great job of making these either look modern or vintage classic (50s/60s silhouette).

I actually think about this a lot. I was wearing skinny jeans before I got pregnant with my first, and by the time I had her and lost all the baby weight, it was no longer “acceptable” to wear any of my jeans 😂😂

Yeah it's definitely hard. Because would I be brave enough to wear any of these out of the house? (I probably couldn't for months anyway with the heat lol) I think I could because there are still plenty of people out there wearing skinny jeans, I just have to let go of my own personal associations and icks

I think they can still be pulled off if they’re styled right— they look great on you! In this current moment, I like then loose. Who knows how I’ll feel 5 years from now 🙃🙃🙃

Loved this!! My skinny jeans collection had dwindled pre-covid and I ended up just not replacing them once the thighs wore out (something that always happened to skinny jeans on me..) - one thing I have appreciated about the baggier denim silhouette is that it’s made fluctuations in my own weight AND borrowing clothes from friends easier!

oh a perfect examination of how trends fuck with our heads!! Love loose/baggy jeans on others but have not found a pair I feel falls well on me so have kept most of my jeans pretty slim/straight cut and stick to wide-leg trousers instead. But also showing my age here, to me a skinny jean is not a skinny jean unless so long you’re bunching them over your converse hi-tops 😂 and I do have one black pair left of those and will not get rid of them (they are in a drawer for the rare outfit I feel calls for genuine skinny jeans)! I do think people like brenda hashtag style skinny jeans in a way that feels genuinely “cool” which is a fun reminder that our fashion icks are malleable and based on status/image & all our fickle insecurities tbh. You look divine in the funny face recreation fyi!!
